Holy Saturday

There is a stillness to this morning, a feeling that we are near the heart of things. Between the Passion and the Resurrection there is only a sentence in the creed, but there is a day for us who live it. Triduum is the axis mundi around which all of time and earthly existence turn, heaven touches earth and even hell itself. But right now we are between the two poles. Behind us, miracles but also suffering. Ahead, suffering but also glory. On this day our task is both insurmountable and insignificant. All we have to do is remain. He is returning. He is not idle. Though He seems removed from us, He is active and we are always on His mind. All we have to do keep our faith.
